Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge
Come celebrate National Public Lands Day by helping plant native trees and grasses along the restored Fairbanks Channel! The native planting is an important part of the restoration process as native plants compete with exotic species, stabilize disturbed soils, and provide habitat for wildlife. Individuals need to be in good physical condition as planting requires bending, kneeling, and getting dirty. Snacks and water will be provided. Planting ends at noon, but participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy an afternoon of fun, interactive games - with prizes! Battle Mountain District
Plant colonizing and stabilizing willow species in reaches with tamarisk (aka salt cedar) recently removed. The willows will allow for an upward trend in riparian functionality and should improve ecosystem health for present and future generations.

Big Rocks Wilderness
