Signature Sites

National Public Lands Day 2009

National Public Lands Day 2009 was the biggest yet with over 2,000 sites in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories. Signature sites took place from coast to coast.

We are currently searching for 2010 signature site venues. 

Past Signature Sites

For the past several years, National Public Lands Day has hosted a signature volunteer event as thousands of other work days are simultaneously taking place throughout the country.

2009:

• Lincoln Memorial, National Mall, Washington, D.C.
• Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, California
• Angeles National Forest, California (website)
• Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, Atlanta, Georgia

2008: Prince William Forest Park, National Park Service, Virginia

2007: Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, Washington, D.C. 

2006: Golden Gate National Recreation Area, San Francisco, California.
