Learn How You Can Help Spruce Up Our Beautiful Lands!

SPONSOR: Toyota

TOYOTA & National Public Lands Day

Toyota volunteers
At Castlewood Canyon State Park in Colorado, Toyota volunteers remove cottonwood trees that loomed over the historic 1898 Lucas Homestead house.  Left undisturbed the cottonwoods would eventually fall on the house.

Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. has sponsored the National Public Lands Day program for the past 11 years. In addition to their sponsorship, for over a decade Toyota has also encouraged their employees to get involved in NPLD activities throughout the nation by helping to care for parks, forests, rivers, beaches, shorelines and other public lands. On September 26, 2009, more than 3,100 Toyota employees volunteered at 37 different public land areas in 20 states and U.S. territories. View the 2009 Toyota Site List. View the lists of Toyota sites from NPLD 2008, 2007 and 2006.

Toyota operates under a Global Earth Charter which was set forth to promote environmental responsibility for every aspect of the company and significantly reduce the impact that Toyota's vehicles have on the planet. Sponsorship of national and regional environmental preservation projects is just one of many areas in which Toyota has proven its environmental stewardship. The company created the world's first mass-produced, clean-running gas/electric hybrid car, the Prius, which has received numerous environmental awards, most notably from the Sierra Club and National Wildlife Federation.

We’re looking forward to even more Toyota associates lending a hand to take care of our public lands this September!
